As a feeder system for the main CBLOL league, it allows younger and less experienced players to hone their skills, gain competitive experience, and showcase their abilities to advance into the primary league.

CBLOL Academy mirrors the structure of its senior counterpart, featuring regular seasons, playoffs, and championships, which are monitored by scouts and teams from the main league. As of 2024, CBLOL Academy Split 2 is also the first to feature four teams from Open Qualifiers, allowing newer teams to compete.

Like the main CBLOL league, CBLOL Academy has two splits every year. Spilt 1 in Jan 2024, won by paiN Academy, and Split 2 in June 2024. Both splits follow a similar format, except Split 1 in 2024 had a Play-In stage in Mar.
